Discover the artist inside

Would you like to turn your English class into an Art class?

National Gallery of Art has a wonderful free resource:

Paint'nPlay: Free kid-friendly digital painting tool:

Let your students artistic skills come to life! Give  them brushes and a palette to create their own works of art imitating artist like Vincent van Gogh or Alma Thomas.
Paint ’n’ Play | Art Game for Kids | National Gallery of Art is a wonderful, easy-to-use tool, ideally for ages 5 and up. It can be played online or at the interactive easel on site. The works can be saved to create the students'portfolio, imported and shared with friends. An aspect to consider is that it works better on large screens -computers or tablets-.

It is an excellent opportunity to explore and learn about some of the most famous artists from the Gallery's collection and their works, their lives and style. Fun facts or quotes from featured artists are also provided by a blue gooster.

Brushes are available in different sizes and the palettes of colors varies according to each artist's style.
There are six artists and a work from each one to choose from plus a canva for free creation. Each option has a link to further information about the artist as well as the work itself: an image description, dimensions and image-usage policy.

Paint ’n’ Play | Art Game for Kids | National Gallery of Art  is a highly engaging activity if you want to give your English classes an artistic touch or connect with other subjects such as History or Geography while learning English.
Visit National Gallery of Art and find more free resources to link your classes to subjects across the curriculum.
