About the book:
A completely NEW and original picture book to celebrate 25 years of the iconic Charlie and Lola!

I have this little sister Lola. She is small and very funny.

If Lola even thinks about Christmas she can't sit still on her chair.

If you BREATHE the word Christmas she hops up and down.

If you say, "Christmas is coming," she just runs round and round.

Lola is wishing every minute for Christmas, but it is a long way away and too far to wait. Can her brother Charlie think of some clever ways to make the time pass more quickly?

What I liked:
This Christmas story is about managing anxiety and finding ways of enjoying the wait. Lola starts counting the days for Christmas as early as September! Her brother Charlie tries to persuade her by offering a lot of pre-Christmas activities and crafts. He even suggests an original advent calendar to make the wait shorter. Lola, with her incredible imagination, turns every suggestion into a new adorable idea.

Lauren Child brings her famous characters, Charlie & Lola to life in a new Christmas story. The multiple award-winning author delights children and adults once more with her distinctive illustration style, a combination of drawings and collage and the typography which flows through the pages with the same freedom as Lola's streams of thought.

The book is the perfect quickstart for Christmas countdown. Put imagination into action and create your own Christmas calendar with simple activites. I would include things like baking cookies, listening to music and dancing together, going for a walk to discover new places, watching Christmas movies, doing some arts & crafts, playing in the park and enjoying nature and decorating your place - why not a public place too?-

I hope you like the book and can share activities with your beloved ones while waiting for Christmas day!!
