Description:
Matou lives in a suburb of Paris. On her way to school, she passes a mosque and can not resist trying on some of the shoes she finds outside. She likes imagining who the owners might be. She waits until people leave the mosque to confirm her guesses. One day, she returns from school earlier, to find her mother is not at home as she promised. Feeling upset and angry, she understands the meaning of stepping into somebody's shoes after her mother explains why she could not keep her promise.

Talk about the meaning of 'step into somebody's shoes' and how it helps to look at things from another perspective.
I liked the story because of its simplicity with a strong social and emotional learning message though. It highlights the importance of empathy and understanding to foster good relationships. It sends an important message to children about building peace in a world where intolerance seems to rule.
The world needs more people who can look through other's perspective.
