Based on the Icelandic tradition, Christmas Book Flood, when people gift books to family and friends on Christmas Eve.

As winter is near, people prepare for the tradition of gifting books on Christmas Eve. They search in catalogues and bookstore shelves to find the perfect choices for family and friends. As the day is nearer, people hurry to purchase their tresures. A young girl makes a last-minute discovery: she found the perfect book “to bring loved ones joy.”
Then everyone heads home to celebrate among festive decorations, delicious food, and lots of hugs.
When the day finally arrives, they gather together to share magical stories, curl up by the fire, hot chocolate in hand, and they read for hours—so the Book Flood begins!

This gorgeously illustrated book is a vivid representation of the Yule Book Flood 🎄 The double spread pages are an artwork on themselves! They depict scenes of beautiful northern snowy landscapes, dark blue skies, community life, enchanted bookstores and
the magic and love of the season.

🎁 Facts about the tradition:
*Since 1944, the Icelandic book trade has published a catalogue that is sent to every household to order books to give over the Holidays.
*Paper was an item that was not rationed in Iceland during WWII.
